FinalCutPro 10.5.3 Crashes on Exporting Any File

When hitting Next... and Save on Export dialog, FCP just simply crashes. A few moment system dialog shows up "Final Cut Pro Quit Unexpectedly".

I have tried these :

  1. Reinstall FCP
  2. Delete All Libraries
  3. Reset Preference
  4. Try export few codecs - HEVC (either mov and mp4) and ProRes 422 LT
  5. Try few bunch of vdo files

None could solve. Anybody has the same issue here ? Did not have this issue before 10.5.3.

Intel MacBook Air 2020, Big Sur 11.4, FCP 10.5.3, Compressor 4.5.3

For those who are not be able to solve this issue, based on other user who has contacted Apple, looks like we will have to wait for an update for this. But if you have a backup of previous FCP. I suggest to roll it back right now since it would work perfectly. According to nahumyamin.

"[UPDATE]

I've reverted to the previous working version of FCP (10.5.2) from my time machine backup, and no issue with exporting. The application works as expected and in the same way as before.

I suspect there is an issue with the new released version, I will keep this previous version and wait to see if there is an update or fix from Apple."

Hope this also helps you.

Just to let you know my point of view, the reason I rejected installed third party software at that point because I have just reinstalled macOS (did start from zero, no any migration, as if it was first out-of-the-box). However, a problem occured on a fresh OS with just FCP and Compressor installed! So what is the point of installing software-confliction-report application ? There was nothing on my mac that causes issue but FCP itself. As you might have seen many people facing this very same issue. You should now know that this is a problem with FCP update that does not work in some "first setup" regions. As some working machines here could not reproduce the issue eventhough changed a region to non-working region (i.e. Thailand). So far I have seen "first setup" regions that do not have problem are US, UK and Australia (mostly English-speaking country) and some regions that having a problem are Thailand, Panama and some unconfirmed areas (non-English).

Also thanks for confirmation on your setup.

No, it is a fresh start. Started over from the welcome screen, newly created user, no migration. Library/Project gets automatically created on first FCP launch. Even weirder is that FCP crashes on nothing applied to a clip, just import and click export right away. This made me believe that a problem comes from FCP itself.

Also have seen that some users can get away by exporting a non-audio clip which I planned to try too. I will get back on this later.

Thanks terryb, I do not disagree about third party software but I am quite confident about software conflicting is not an issue because I started everything over from zero without any addition software or migration (including first-party ones except compressor).

Uninstalled Compressor, still crashes on video with audio. Only have Final Cut Pro app. It is really FCP internal bug which effecting some (including myself) but definitely not all.
