FinalCutPro 10.5.3 Crashes on Exporting Any File

When hitting Next... and Save on Export dialog, FCP just simply crashes. A few moment system dialog shows up "Final Cut Pro Quit Unexpectedly".

I have tried these :

  1. Reinstall FCP
  2. Delete All Libraries
  3. Reset Preference
  4. Try export few codecs - HEVC (either mov and mp4) and ProRes 422 LT
  5. Try few bunch of vdo files

None could solve. Anybody has the same issue here ? Did not have this issue before 10.5.3.

Intel MacBook Air 2020, Big Sur 11.4, FCP 10.5.3, Compressor 4.5.3

For those who are not be able to solve this issue, based on other user who has contacted Apple, looks like we will have to wait for an update for this. But if you have a backup of previous FCP. I suggest to roll it back right now since it would work perfectly. According to nahumyamin.

"[UPDATE]

I've reverted to the previous working version of FCP (10.5.2) from my time machine backup, and no issue with exporting. The application works as expected and in the same way as before.

I suspect there is an issue with the new released version, I will keep this previous version and wait to see if there is an update or fix from Apple."

Hope this also helps you.

Having exactly the same problem here. When I tried to export, FCP quits after I click "save". All my apps and systems have been updated to the latest.

What I've tried already that did NOT solve the problem:

• replace mobiledevices.framework file with older version

• reinstall fcp & motion & compressor

• reboot computer

• delete iTunes

• delete Chrome

• delete all render files

• delete fcp preferences

... (and some I don't even remember)

I've tried fixing the problem for 6 hours. Basically any solutions that I could find online I've tried them, and none of these worked... so frustrating...

My laptop info:

MacBook Pro (2017), Memory 8GB

FCP 10.5.3 / macOS Big Sur 11.4

220GB+ available in storage

Mine worked!!! So my language setting was English (primary) with Chinese (additional language). Yesterday I removed Chinese it did not work. But this morning I tried changing primary language to Chinese and now it worked? I could export files now. So @GoLfWRC try changing primary language to another language and see how it goes!

I forgot to say I also changed my region as! I am not sure which step fixed the problem, but try changing primary language and/or region. Just work around with language preferences and it may work somehow!
