iMessage being sent, but we didn’t send it

My wife’s IMessage has recently sent me emoji’s or text but she and I didn’t send it. When we check her iMessages we can see the messages on her side as well, so it seems to be more than just a spoofed text message. When I check which devices are logged into her apple account, the only devices shown are the ones we expect. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do at this point?
