My MacBook Air 2017 started having restart issues one fine day.
I took it to the service centre and they called me later in the day saying that there is a logic board failure and it’ll cost me 45000 for a replacement.
what is the correct thing to do in the situation?
45000 seems like an exorbitant amount as it’s more than half the cost I paid for the MacBook in the first place

You have a 2017 MacBook Air. It is probably out of warranty by now. You are not going to void any existing warranties by going to a third party repair store. As you know, logic board repair is expensive. My recommendation is to research for a repair shop that is reputable, in your area, and is cost effective according to you. Yes, explore third party repair shops as well.

That answer to your question has to come from within you, Meghna. There has been a Logic Board failure and you have a financial decision to make. As you have learned, Logic Boards are expensive to replace since it is a very labor intensive job. You can also check some third-party repair shops to see whether it can be done cheaper. In the end, you will have to decide whether to spend the money to replace the Logic Board OR whether to just buy a new MacBook Air (or another computer).
