Speaker button missing, now audio button brings up menu iPhone XR, iOS 14.6

iPhone XR, iOS 14.6

I am not sure when his started but before I would get a phone call, answer it and then hit the speaker button and handle the call. Now I answer the phone and I have to hit "audio" and then it brings up a menu where it says iPhone, Speaker and MacBook Air. I have huge fingers and this smaller menu often times I hit the MacBook option (even if I am hundreds of miles away from my MacBook).

I also don't want it to just default to speakerphone when I answer, I want it to go back to the way it was previous.

This is not the case at all, what I think the issue was that on my MacBook Air, even though I was signed out of FaceTime there was a box inside there that was checked which was enabling this option on my iPhone. I had to log into FaceTime uncheck the box to allow calls and then sign back out. I did a hard restart on my phone and everything went back to normal.

I had no speakers, or Bluetooth devices connected to my phone when this was happening.

Hello johnny1720,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities!

We see that you are wondering how to have your iPhone speaker phone be the only audio output option from a call.

We’d be happy to help you!

The other audio options will appear if you have speakers connecting to your iPhone.

You can refer to Play audio from iPhone on HomePod and other wireless speakers for more information.

You can turn off Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to disconnect the other audio sources if needed.

Take care.
