Music not playing offline

none of my downloaded music from Apple library will play offline. It plays for 15 seconds then stops. I have deleted all music, re-downloaded, reset settings, rebooted phone, still it works for a while then goes back to same scenario of not playing.

Hello lizette189,

We understand that music is only playing for 15 seconds. We want to make sure you're able to enjoy listening to music, and we want to help.

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

  1. Which iOS version is your device running? Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  2. Does the issue continue after restarting? Restart your iPhone
  3. If you remove and redownload the affected songs, does that seem to help? Add music to iPhone and listen offline
  4. Is "Sync Library" enabled? Here's how to check: Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

Thanks!

lizette189,

Thanks so much for answering those questions for us.

Next, we'd like to see if re-syncing your Music library helps. To do that, please go to Settings > Music, and turn off Sync Library, then turn it back on again.

Please note that it may take some time to re-sync your library, depending on its size, and your network connection. More about how to manage your internet connection here: Connect iPhone to the internet

Thanks!

Frankly the iOS version just does not matter. This is a bug in the Music app for all versions up to the recent 14.7.1 have the same problem. I have had this problem continuously. I have spent hours with Apple support folks who truly have no clue what is going on. Very frustrating indeed.

There is no point in spending the money with Apple Music when I was quite happy with a bugfree Spotify app. Lets hope they come up with loseless HD quality songs by the end of 2021 as promised. Even Tidal app works great. Subscribed to Apple Music just because they are cheapest (for loseless quality). But it appears the cheapness is both literal in quality.
