MacBook Pro has "Global Reset" error on every reboot

My MacBook Pro has a "Global Reset" error on every reboot since a few days. The exact error message in the error report:

Global Reset

GRC0 = 0x00000400

GRC1 = 0x00010001

I recovered macOS and did all updates, but the error is still present. I cannot find anything about the error codes above. What is the problem?

Same problem here. I have a very similar setup as ChristianGot and did similar troubleshooting and still get the exact same results. I've also done a fresh install of macOS 11.5.1 from internet recovery and at first I thought it was solved but the issue came back a few days later when I next rebooted.

My setup:

  • 13" MBP Late 2018 - i7 Quad/16GB RAM/512GB SSD
  • Top right Thunderbolt: Dell U2720Q via USB-C in "high resolution/USB2" mode running at the "looks like 2560x1440" setting.
  • Bottom right Thunderbolt: 10" portable monitor via HDMI (2560x1600 in looks like 1440 x 900 mode) into a small USB-C hub/dock by AZDOME and also tested one by VAVA
  • Internal 13" screen 2560x1600 in looks like 1440 x 900 mode.

Rebooting causes the kernel panic followed by:

Global Reset

GRC0 = 0x00000400

GRC1 = 0x00010001

If I do a full shut down, I have issues getting it powered back on unless I hold in the power button.

Same issue here as described by everyone... I also have severe battery drain when my MBP 2018 4TBT is in this "pseudo-shutdown" state. Leaving it unplugged and shut down over night basically gives it a deep discharge - where I need to leave it plugged in for at least 5-10min before having to spam / hold the power button to get any response out of it again.

I the get treated with a long black and white error message on boot-up and this kernel-error on the desktop:

Global Reset

GRC0 = 0x00000400

GRC1 = 0x00010001

Many Bluetooth , Wi-Fi and even Ethernet connections keep interrupting aswell.

It all started when i got my 2x Dell U2721DE and upgraded to Big Sur. Its frustrating. There is a very fatal error with this specific combination of hardware and Big Sur.

I also encountered the same problem. When I connected my two Dell u2419h monitors, it would have such a problem. And in this system, when the two monitors are connected externally, the computer heating is more serious than the previous system.

Now I can only go back to Catalina to avoid my computer overheating.

My hardware:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018 - 2.3GHz Quad-Core i5, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Plus 655 GPU)

Display 1: Dell U2419H Display

Display 2: Dell U2419H Display

Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock HD

I have this question, too.

MacBook Pro 2019, four TB3 ports, 13-inch

macOS Big Sur 11.6

Two displays connected one by USB-C to Displayport one by Displayport, using two Asus VN279 monitors.

I thought it was an issue of the TB3-Dock, so I changed from Icy Box TB3-Dock to CalDigit TB3-Dock, same error: Kernel Panic on reboot, error code:

Global Reset

GRC0 = 0x00000400

GRC1 = 0x00010001
