My iPhone 11 can connect to the wifi but can't access certain functions within applications

Hi there,

I've been using this iPhone 11 since last year without any problems but as of a month ago I couldn't access some of the functions within certain applications. For instance, when I tried to change my privacy settings on Whatsapp and Telegram it just keeps loading and I couldn't even change my profile picture. I'm also experiencing the same issues on Spotify, Soundcloud and Youtube such that when I click on a song it wouldn't play and just buffers instead and asking me to reload. I have just updated with the latest iOS update but still the problem persists. Is this perhaps a storage problem or a connection problem? How can I fix this? I have attached screenshots for reference.

Thank you.

moon__22,

Thank you for letting us know more about the situation. Let's narrow this down further.

Just to confirm, the issue is only happening with third-party apps, correct? In other words, are you able to access Apple apps without an issue?

Are any restrictions enabled on your device? Here's how to check: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Do you have any profiles installed under Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management? This page outlines how to view and manage configuration profiles: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

Since you also mentioned an issue updating some applications, please check out this link as well: If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad

Thanks!

Hello moon__22,

It sounds like you're intermittently unable to access some features of third-party applications, correct? We'd like to see how we can help.

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

  1. It sounds like your iPhone is running iOS 14.6 at this time, is that right? Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  2. Does this happen when your device is connected to a specific network, or does it happen with all networks? Connect iPhone to the internet
  3. Do you have any available app updates? How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Thanks!

Hi Brittany,

Thank you for your reply! Yes I'm running on iOS 14.6. This not only happens when I'm on wifi but also when I'm on data. The connection is faster on data but the same problem occurs in that certain features within third party apps can't be accessed. I've updated Telegram and Spotify but nothing's changed. Certain apps including Soundcloud can't be updated for some reason. I'm not sure what else to do as I've tried updating, deleting items to free storage, but the problem still persists. It's gotten to the point where I can't even open certain apps as there's "no connection".
