face recognition not working

Iphone claims you can submerge teh iPhone 11 6' feet.

my Iphone 11 fell into my sink with 1 " of water and the face recognition stoped workin...

do not sumerge your phone in water.

it is a pain to enter your PW every time you use it...

I was told by a service repair man that once repaired the seal is broken and no longer is the phone secure under water.

has anyone encounter this problem and what did you do.

An iPhone (any model) is NOT water proof. The water resistance, stated by Apple, was determined under controlled conditions. Basically that means, your iPhone can still be damaged with any type of liquid immersion. Yours apparently has. The best recourse now is to both stop using it and power it off completely. Then make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options. If you had this done by a third-party, all bets are off and Apple will not service this phone.

Be aware the standard Apple limited warranty does not cover liquid damage to your phone. However, if you elected to purchase an AppleCare+ plan, when you purchased this phone, AND the plan is still active, you may find that you can get it either repaired (depending on the damage) or replaced at a reduced cost to you.
