iMovie on Apple TV device

Hi all

hoping someone might be able to answer my query.

I have created 2 movies in iMovie and I want them downloaded so I can play them without an internet connection. Preferably on Apple TV but open to buying any device capable of doing the job.

The movies are for a best man speech at a wedding venue and while the hotel will have internet I don’t want to rely on their connection at such an important moment. The device must be hdmi enabled to play through a projector. I also don’t want to rely on airplay as interference could be an issue. Anyone any suggestions please?

To load content onto the Apple TV box, I only know of one method: VLC. The “Remote Playback” feature allows a transfer of media files from a computer to the Apple TV box as (temporary) “cached media”. Works with the remote from a comfortable distance.

Alternatively, use a Mac (desktop or notebook) as playback device, with the projector as second screen or mirrored screen. You may need an HDMI adapter for Macs without HDMI port (e.g. USB-C to HDMI). This may need the operator to be close to the projector.
