Maps Audio Prompts Cannot be Heard Via CarPlay
I have an iPhone 12Pro and a 2020 Jaguar F-Type. Up till few weeks ago I had no issues with connecting my phone to CarPlay via cable, firing up my Maps app and seeing directions on the screen while hearing the spoken turn by turn prompts. Unfortunately, without me changing any settings on the phone and/or the car, the voice prompts can no longer be heard. I have done all the following and the issue continues to persist:
- Reset the phone to factory settings and restored from most recent back up.
- Updated the iOS to the most recent version (14.7)
- Tried different cables for connection.
- Went into Settings>>Maps>>Navigation&Guidance...I have set the prompts volume here to LOUD!
- Ensured nothing is muted on the phone/car
- turned up volume in the car and on the phone
- Have "forgotten" my car on CarPlay and added it back on
- have uninstalled and reinstalled the Maps app
- called Apple support (even the higher up techs can't figure it out). Currently, they have passed it on to their engineers and I'm waiting a response from them.
Few notes:
-My audio prompts for Google Maps and Wayz are suffering from the same issue, when connected to CarPlay.
-If I'm not connected to CarPlay and the phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth all prompts CAN be heard. this issue strictly arises, when I connect to CarPlay.
-Using the phone by itself, everything works fine.
-Even when connected to CarPlay, I can still hear Siri, my music, incoming/outgoing calls. The only audio issue is with the turn by turn spoken directions that cannot be heard.
Does anyone knows what's going on and what's the solution to this problem?
