They were working fine last night but now my airpods will connect to my computer (and phone) but no sound will be heard though it was playing fine on the computer speakers. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the airpods, checked the sound level, restarted the devices, nothing. Any other suggestions?

I have the same exact issue! I've tried hard resetting it. it recognizes my airpods max, but still won't play any audio. I don't even hear any sounds that indicate connection nor do i hear the clicking sound of the when adjusting audio. Lastly, I tried connecting on my iphone. same issue, however, I can't change to noise cancelling without it telling me "you must connect both airpods". I have airpods maxes. what does that even mean?
