Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...
Connecting to Wifi is the first part and then getting connected to the Internet is the second
For your Internet connection.

You and dogcow needs to understand this is an iOS update issue!
If you feel it is an iOS issue, report it here:
I have zero issues with my devices.
That doesn't belittle your issues, it just means it's not universal.
We have this failed connection problem on iPads at home on wifi and also on two iPhones on the Telstra network.
It is an iOS problem for sure. It only happened after the latest updates.
The solution is to toggle Airplane mode on and off to make a new connection. This fixes it in our case.
Is it a coincidence that we have this problem on two iPads and two iPhones at the same time?
As Hercule Poirot would say "I don't believe in coincidences".
Maybe millions don't have this problem, but some people certainly do.
My "fix" above re toggling Airplane Mode same from an Apple website.
Update what? The issue being faced by you is not iOS related.
I have iPhone 4S iOS 9.3.6, iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.4, iPhone SE iOS 14.7.1, iPhone 8 iOS 14.7.1 and an iPad Pro iPadOS 14.7.1 and iPhone 12 Pro iOS 14.7.1. Prior to that, I had iPhone 3GS, which I have stopped using because it is carrier-locked.
I have been updating all these devices whenever a new iOS are released. I have never encountered any issue whatsoever after any update
I have the exact same problem having updated yesterday. Now WiFi will not stream anything despite very fast speeds and general internet working. As soon as I go outside and get 4g -no problem. Of course this is iOS update breaking something. All of our WiFi’s haven’t suddenly gone down 🤪
I'm having a similar issue. Other devices connected to my WiFi network are working just fine. My computer is getting triple-digit download and upload speeds on speedtest.net. However, my iPhone is only 0.97 mbps on the download and 3.28 mbps on the upload. This is after rebooting my phone.
A lot of people are reporting this set of issues right after the iOS 14.7.1 update - not just on here. The update may not effect all or even most users but this does not mean the update is not the primary issue. In every case, people had no problem until the update so it's fair to suspect the update. I'm the only person at home to do the update and I'm the only one with this problem - which I suspect has more to do with Bluetooth than wifi but it's early days yet.
This is a pathetic copy/paste answer. Why would you immediately blame router/modem/isp when the asking person already said other devices in the same wifi network work OK?
I'm facing the same issue. I upgraded iPadOS last night and I have a horrible time staying connected on the ipad, while all my laptop/desktop/appleTV/cameras stay online perfectly fine. Do you still till it's my ISP/router/modem having problem?
Because many of us have been debugging Wi-Fi issues for over twenty years now, see this type of thing on a regular basis, and see zero issues with iPhones of any kind with most wireless access points or routers.
I am also having this issue after updating. I believe this may have something to do with connecting to both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks at the same time (e.g., connecting to a single network name that automatically routes to each network). Is there any solution currently?
M also getting this issue😭😭😭 I contacted apple support they said to try factory data reset with a computer. But I don’t have one.. you can try this steps
connect to anyone hotspot
and then disconnect it
you can use ur WiFi for sometimes
It is related to the iOS. I have checked and tested with 4 iPads 4 iPhones and 1 MacBook Pro and 3 Windows Laptop, 2 Samsung TVs ( 1 50” and a 75”) Roku wifi streamer and wifi Google home pod.
The only issue with wi-fi is on my 8 iOS devices after the update. Even the MacBook is working on Wi-Fi
So what do you say to this?
That you have a Wi-Fi access point that does not properly implement the standards used by iOS.
Were it iOS there would be issues on… every other WiFi network which is simply not an issue being seen by the vast majority of users.
What is your home Wi-Fi router/access point?
