Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...
Connecting to Wifi is the first part and then getting connected to the Internet is the second
For your Internet connection.

Some have been; tens of millions others have not.
That doesn't belittle the issue among those of you experiencing it, but it also means there is something different about the systems of those of you experiencing it from the majority who do not see this.
I've experienced this too, right after the iOS 14.7. 1 update. Milliions may not experience this, a few might. That's logical. Perhaps it's best for someone at Apple to actively look into this. This is an iPhone 12 Pro, nothing unusual is on it, apart from a VPN (which aren't that unusual to use), but maybe that's the issue. If so, this update is problematic to those who use VPNs, potentially. I changed my VPN's settings to IKEv2 and I'm back on WiFi. Hope that helps someone else.
I have a very similar issue since I updated to iOS 14.7.1 (iPhone X).
Basically I'm always connected (the wi-fi icon is always there, with full signal) but there's random moments, during the day, when things (apps, webpages, etc.) just won't load even if wi-fi is showing as connected.
So when that happens I have to turn wi-fi off and then back on from Control Center... and it starts working again.
This happens multiple times during the day and it's very annoying.
Apple Support on Twitter suggested me to reset network settings and to delete any VPN app, I did that but the problem is still there.
My father has the same phone (iPhone X on 14.7.1) and he's also having this issue.
My brother has an iPhone 7 Plus (on an earlier iOS version) and he has no problems, so this makes me think that there's something wrong with 14.7.1.
This is a frustrating problem. Usually a VPN will give you several options to connecting beyond ‘automatic’. It is annoying when the iOS upgrade seems to be interfering with the VPN staying connected. The only way around this for me was to use one of the three other connection options. Trial and error, mostly.
sorry for my English.
I am very disappointed in this update. It has only given me headaches with the wifi. I can guarantee that my router has no fault whatsoever since my iphone 6 does not disconnect from wifi like this. I hope they get an update soon to solve the wifi disconnections.
Sorry to disagree but I just made several attempts to update and I’m getting the same message. Even though I was able to backup my IPad as well as browse the internet and watch YouTube videos. It’s obvious I’m connected to the internet and the only time I get the error message is when I try to install the 14.7 update.
Yes you are right, I had this problem few days back after the latest update to 14.7..1 the internet was not working or too slow, stopped BT it worked normally a bug in the new update. They have to fix this problem.
Nothing to do with the router settings or the isp it is a bug in the software update 14.7.1, as someone recommended just stopped the BT it worked again as usual with BT it nearly worked a turtle speed. 😡
Interesting turning Bluetooth off helped. Since this update on my iPhone 11 Pro, my Bose headset will not stay connected to Bluetooth. (I’ve repaired, restarted, etc) I’ve seen many others complain about BT connectivity since the update also.
Same issue , I use iPad Pro 2021 and ASUS rog phone 3 for gaming, my iPad disconnects a lot while I play call of duty mobile, it’s frustrating to get disconnected during T1 scrims, problem after updating to 14.7.1 before it was fine. Hope we get a fix in 14.8 asap.

I contacted the support about this and they said they're aware of this issue and working on it. I have this issue happen once or twice every day and I have to either forget the wifi network and reconnect OR reboot my phone to resolve it.
Definitely an issue in the iOS acquiring WiFi. Sometimes it cannot find any networks, even though the are many to choose from. The system doesn’t seem to be able to give priority to the last WiFi network it was on. Today at boot up it took over 90 seconds to even have the system attempt to acquire WiFi networks. Something is amiss.
Not true. It could be a combination of certain settings that cause this. It could be the fact that it’s happening to a lot of users but they don’t notice because their phone switched to cellular data. I too am having this issue. Everything in the house(LIFX bulbs, stereo, Alexa, laptops, TVs) connecting to WiFi and internet. iPhone connects to WiFi but has no IC. It will get IC intermittently for a few second then it loses it. I am not sure what is causing the issue. I didn’t notice until after a storm. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t having the issue earlier but didn’t notice. Thanks
**** it! I saw your response and tried it without checking to see if I was on WiFi or cell data but after I turned it off I am on WiFi with internet connection. I turned Bluetooth back on and all is good so far. I will post later if that indeed- we’ll just switched back to cell data. Back to WiFi so I don’t know. It’s driving me crazy 🤪
You and dogcow needs to understand this is an iOS update issue!
I have same issue now, wifi keeps trying to connect without success.
There seems to be an error when you open info for a specific Wifi SSID, then going to bottom option HTTP PROXY it is saying Manual but should be OFF. But whenever you try to change Manual option to OFF or Automatic it goes back to Manual.
What a bug!
