iphone 11pro max camera app crashes

Dear Community members,

I recently purchased brand new Iphone 11 pro max on 3rd June 2021. I have observed that every once in while (every 10-15 days) the camera app just crashes while taking pictures and back of the phone overheats. I have tried the following steps in consultation with apple chat support:

Restarting the phone
Hard resetting the phone
using camera app after removing the case
Restoring the device
my device is on latest ios 14.7.1

The app does start working after restarting the device. However, Is there a permanent fix for this rather than having to restart the device every single time ???

I further wish to state that apple chat support team have confirmed that the device is not having any hardware issues through remote diagnostic test.

We can definitely understand being concerned about your Camera app quitting unexpectedly. Looks like you've several troubleshooting steps. You mentioned that you restored the device in your 4th troubleshooting step, did you use a computer to factory reset the iPhone or erased all content and settings from the Settings app on the phone? Also, when you restored, did you set up the device as new without your backup to see if this continued? If not, that would be the next step. You can follow this article to restore to factory setting using a computer: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. Once completed, set up your device as new and test to see if you experience the same issue with the camera app.

Great question! You can use a Mac with the latest version of iTunes to restore your iPhone. The instructions are in the article in the previous post. After restoring, you'll want to set up as new to test to see if this continues. If it does, then the issue is in the backup. You'll want to sign into iCloud and let your data sync over. You want to manually redownload your apps. from the App Store.

If it doesn't continue, then you can erase the device and restore your backup.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup.

Thank you specialist for your prompt response. I have one small query.

For restoring my device to factory settings, do i require a mac ?

I only have a windows PC with itunes.

Also after restoring the device to factory settings and setting the device as new one, how to get my backed up data?
