Cannot open Apps on MacBook Air

After a recent update I was no longer able to open my Cricut Design Space or Canva App on my MacBook Air 2020. I contacted both Design Space and Canva and they said it was an apple issue and not an issue on their end. Please advise.

Thanks for posting to the Apple Support Communities A0327,

We understand you're having trouble with a couple of your apps following an update.

To increase your chances of getting a specifically helpful response from the community, we recommend providing some additional information.

To start, can you describe what happens when you attempt to open the apps? Do you get an error, no response at all, or something else?

It looks like the Circuit support site lists the latest version of the app as compatible with macOS 10.15 or later, and Canva advises using Safari 12 or higher. What version of macOS do you have installed?
