M1 Macbook crash and mouse lag

Last winter I upgraded from my 2013 Macbook Air to the new M1 MacBook Air. I've been having some issues that are pretty minor, but I never had these problems with my 2013 model and with all the hype surrounding the M1 chip I'm a bit surprised and concerned that something might be wrong. Here's what's been happening:

  • The most annoying issue is mouse lag. It doesn't happen all the time, but very often the mouse will feel very laggy and leave slight trails as I move it around the screen
  • For some reason when I open a new tab in Safari, it will often show the spinning beach ball for 10 seconds or so before the tab opens
  • I've had a couple crashes recently for no aparent reason. I can post the entire error log but for now here are the first few lines:
panic(cpu 4 caller 0xfffffe00239f5798): "dart-disp0 (0xfffffe23331d0000): SMMU(SMMU) error: SID 0 PTE invalid exception on read with DVA 0x350000 (TTBR 0 SEG 0 PTE 0xd4) ERROR_STATUS 0x80000004 TIME 0x164944496ed5c TTE 0 AXI_ID 0)"

These problems aren't too terrible and my macbook is far from unusable, but I'm just a bit surprised that I'm having these issues at all. Is anyone else experiencing these things with the 2020 MacBook Air or might there be an underlying problem with mine?
