I’ve never owned an Apple Watch. About a month ago I upgraded to an iPhone 12. All is well except the last two days every time I unlock my phone I get a pop up message to continue setting up my Apple Watch. How do I get rid of this pop up? The device isn’t listed anywhere so I can’t delete it.

Thanks for the tips! Turns out the easiest solution is sometimes the best - just restarting the phone got rid of it. I always go to the worst case scenario first.
So it turns out restarting the phone didn't solve the problem. My genius husband (not Apple genius, just run of the mill genius) discovered the Apple Watch app on my new phone and deleted it. After another restart (after deleting the app) this seems to have fixed it for good. Stay tuned...

Was the iphone 12 new or 2nd hand because this would happen if somebody either paired or attempted to pair a watch previously with the phone and didn't remove it properly.
I don’t have an Apple Watch. However in the past two days every time I unlock my iPhone 12 I get a message to finish setting up an Apple Watch.
