iCloud crashes with Windows 11

They can't say that Win 11 is experimental any more. I expect a solution some time in 2023 or thereabouts, if we're really lucky, since we know from experience that Apple aren't terribly interested in their Windows software.

Thanks. Well I spent much time going through that whole palaver to set the right permissions, etc. Downloaded and installed icloud again. Same problem, displays login window then that window goes blank and disappears. So no fix for me, I'm afraid.

Thanks so much for this post. After following these two steps, iCloud is finally working for me in Windows 11. Was driving me crazy. Appreciate smart folks like you figuring this stuff out and then posting your finds.

iCloud for windows (windows 11) has again stopped working for me. Come on guys. I know Apple doesn't give a <anything> for those of us not using a Mac, but it reflects really badly on you, if that's something you care about.

Reinstalled iCloud for Windows. Cannot sign in at all unless I run iCloud as administrator. I go through the whole signing-in process including getting an auth code from my primary Apple device, and then it tells me "cannot sign in because there is a problem verifying the identity of this Mac". Never had this before in all the iCloud for Windows problems, but it won't go away so I cannot even now sign in to iCloud, let alone get it to work. Just to confirm, this is a Windows 11 PC, not a Mac. I'm giving up.

Hmm, fair comment. I'm pretty happy with Windows 11 and I'm not going to roll back because one single application doesn't work with it. The others have all managed to coexist with Windows 11. What's special about Apple's iCloud? What am I missing about it?

I should add that it is to be noted that none of my many other windows apps and programs has had any problem whatsoever under Windows 11. So is it Apple's problem or Microsoft's? The facts speak for themselves, perhaps.

I just installed iCloud for Windows on my Windows 11 computer - downloaded from MS store via Apple support (restarted computer after install). iCloud crashes like described in this initial post. Deleted and reinstalled - same issue. Win11 is fully updated per Windows Updater - no optional updates available. Logged in as administrator. No internet issues. Any suggestions?

So, I had rolled back to Win 10 on this PC months ago, but after seeing these solutions and having it working on another Win11 Computer, I decided to upgrade again to Win11, and iCloud / iTunes are still working so far without doing anything special.

Maybe the glitch is ironed out, but glad to see there are good workarounds if necessary.

I installed Windows 11 after the "official release date" through Windows 11 and had the same issue. When is Apple going to release an update of iCloud for Windows 11? That appears to be the issue.

I have installed windows 11 and iCloud for Windows does not work. Can't log in because it crashes before I ever get that far.

I have the same issue. Driving me mad, particularly as I just migrated from Mac to PC!

Still crashing for me. Com’on Apple. Fix it!

It works for me on restart. If I try to access its settings window, however, then it invitably crashes, so I cannot change the settings I've got.
