Striated built-in display

Problem: the built-in display on my 2020 16" MacBook Pro is striated and unusable, except when I move it to one hard-to-find position, when the problem resolves. There is no problem with external displays-- the picture on those is always perfect when connected via HDMI. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, did you find a solution?

Interestingly, a screenshot does not capture the problem-- the screenshot looks normal. I need to take a photo of the screen with my cellphone for the problem to be captured in a photo.

Here is the screenshot showing the same screen.

The screenshot is generated directly from the GPU itself—not your issue

You do have a hardware issue— display or attached projector cable.
