'Create PDF' does not work when combining screenshots

Hello, I am trying to combine a few screenshots into a single pdf file. I had done this many times using using the Finder gallery view, select the files and click 'create pdf', it will then suggest a file name that I can overwrite.

But now, when i click 'create pdf', there is just a 'ding' sound and no file is created, no file name appear either. I presume the action is not successful and I wonder what I did to cause this problem. Please help and thanks!

Thanks everyone here for helping me. I have restarted the laptop like Luis suggested and all is well now.

Presumably, they are png files, which is the default.

I don't think that being screenshots is relevant. Did you try with other images? I expect they won't work either.

I don't know why it is not working. It is working fine here.

Did you try restarting your mac?

I just selected three images: one JPG and two PNG and when I selected the Create PDF Quick Action, a new PDF with these images, in the order selected, appeared on my Desktop. Same result when selecting four PNG screenshot images.

What are the types of files that you are selecting? What folder are they located in?

Th files are just screenshots and the folder is in the Desktop
