Card expiration with an active (but cancelled) subscription

My credit card expired but I still have an ongoing 3-month subscription, therefore I cannot remove the card in order to update the information. When I try to add the card without removing the old one, it won't let me because the card number is the same, it's just the date of expiration and CVV changing. What do I do?

It says "This payment method has already been added to your account" in red text. I have tried to delete the previous card, but it says "There is an active subscription on this account that requires at least one payment on file" I have cancelled said subscription (apple music) in hopes that if I have the cancelled subscription I can remove the old card. Today (March 6, 2021) is when the subscription says it will expire yet it's not letting me remove the card. Very frustrating please help!

I cannot update my card with a new expiration date, nor can I remove my card. I get a warning that my card cannot be used because it has expired. Fine. I have the same card but now with an updated expiration date. I cannot edit the new expiration date, nor can I remove my card (because it still has purchases pending). So now my card and purchases are stuck in limbo. Get it together apple. This is ridiculous. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Can't update expiring credit card with active subscriptions, but don't want to cancel subscriptions This is so frustrating. I have a credit card that is expiring in a few days. I have a new card with the same number but a new expiry date. 1. Tried to add a new payment method: Apple will not allow me to add the new card as it keeps stating that there is already a card with this number (yeah, but it won't let me EDIT the expiry date!) 2. Tried to removed current payment method: Apple will not allow me to remove current payment method as there is an active subscription 3. Went to App Store to try and remove payment method from subscriptions but this will not work. I DO NOT want to cancel my Subscriptions - I just want to update the payment method. This is beyond a joke! I just want to update the payment method but it won't let me edit it. Why is it so hard? Can anyone help with this before I really have a melt down please? thanks

You need to add a different payment method as the default payment method and then you should be able to update your card information.
