CAR Play Issues after IOS15 Update Cannot Load SiriusXM Or Amazon Music

Even though I can start the Sirius XM app on my iPhone and play a station when I go to the app on the car's radio screen and hit favorite channels I get a message that It cannot load Sirius XM I have to go to my phone to change the channel.

Same with Amazon music I can select a track on the iPhone but if I trying to open the app on the car radio screen gives me a can not load amazon music.

My head unit is an Alpine ILX-W650

These apps worked prior to me updating to IOS15

Hi FPGFHFMA,

We see after updating your iPhone to iOS 15, CarPlay no longer works properly with Sirius XM or Amazon Music.

As the iPhone has been recently updated, do you also have any updates for those specific apps in the App Store?

Additionally, as CarPlay interfaces with both your iPhone and the CarPlay software in your receiver, it is possible the Alpine unit may need an update for iOS 15. If the issue persists after updating the relevant apps on your iPhone, we'd recommend reaching out to Alpine for assistance in updating the firmware of the CarPlay compatible receiver if need be, or confirm its compatibility with iOS 15.

I agree, my phone worked in my car this morning, then it updated to IOS 15, now it won't connect. Will Charge but no music. Apple needs to update this issue ASAP

It’s corrected with the later updates

It’s 15.0.2 and it’s already out. Actually we are already at 15.1 now. Go to settings and software update. Should come up for download.

15.1 does NOT Fix the problem! IPhone doesn't connect to the car. Charging works but no audio. This needs to be fixed today! Apple needs to address the problem! 15.1.1 or better needs to happen.

What kind of car is it? or is it an after market head unit. 15.1 fix the issues all of us here had in connecting to Sirius XM and Amazon.

it's a GMC Terrain. Audio worked under ios 14, but nothing under 15 and beyond so far. It is OEM

it plugs into the car's usb port as I have since I bought the car. The audio was recognized as an ipod. Until 15.1, now nothing.

Well this applies. USB audio came before Carplay. My car is a 2011. Worked with 14, not with 15. Same issue with apple music, podcasts, amazon music, and any other audio program.

I upgraded my IPhone XR to OS15 four days ago, and can no longer stream music from Amazon through CarPlay. I'm beyond mad. I wish I never did the update.
