Apple Watch 6 - blue border around watch face

You can toggle off the "Visual Signal" setting inside the assistive touch menu on the Watch app on the phone, while leaving assistive touch on. That will leave the assistive touch functionality active, but disable the irritating blue halo (I hated it too!).

This can be switched off as shown below.

Go to Watch App (on iPhone) > Settings > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > Hand Gestures > Activation Gesture > Visual Signal

The blue border can be turned off by toggling this Visual Signal to off

To remove it go to setting accessabity scroll down to assistive touch then slide off.

I have exactly the same issue and I know by turning Assistive Touch off, it helps. But I just want the ugly borders gone, not the Pinch/Clench shortcuts. Can Apple please fix this by allowing us to toggle these frames/boxes on and off?

You are writing other users on this user to user only forum, none of whom have any input into what Apple can or can't do.

Then the next step would be to unpair the watch from your iPhone and set it up again.

Kind of a pain, I know, but will restore your watch back to factory settings. Then set it up again, only not from backup as that may contain whatever is preventing you from removing the border --> Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Then pair it again.

i had the same issue. Shutting off assistive touch got rid of it. Thx

You can also leave assistive touch on, and just toggle of the "Visual Signal" setting inside the assistive touch settings.

Turning off AssistiveTouch as well. That feature takes a lot of time to master the skill set.

hey, you can turn the visual signal off by going to Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Hand Gestures > Activation Gesture.

I turned assistive touch back on and then back off again and it seemed to work. Maybe it jogged the glitch

Did you force restart your watch? Force restart requires you hold BOTH the digital crown and elongated power button at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears (can take several seconds of holding both buttons), then when the logo appears, let go.

Turn off Visual Signal.

Go to settings > Accessibilities > Hand Gestures > Activation Gesture > Turn OFF and ON Visual Signal.

You can change the color to your preference in Accessibilities > Under the Appearance* Color.

Have the same issue and Apple Tech Support couldn't help.

Apple Chat Tech support didn't know what this border is. I think it has something to do with the small icons that show momentarily when you raise your wrist to look at the face - like the red dot and walkie talkie symbols that flash.
