Audio stops when screen shuts off

I’ve done all suggested fixes & still have the same issue. For the record this only seems to happen when my headphones are wired in via the 3.5 to lightning adapter

Hello?? This is happening when I’m listening to the NPR app and it never happened before. A reply and fix would be appreciated.

This issue is ridiculous and clearly widespread. The response is not clear. What am I supposed to delete all my apps? What’s the solution to this disaster?

I am having the same issue when using the Duolingo app. Initially, shutting down and restarting my phone worked, but now it doesn't. I've tried all the fixes I can find online, deleted and reloaded the app but the phone still shuts off once the screen locks. iphone 13 running iOS 15.0.2

What does this mean?

how do I know if the music is 96k?

I remove the album from my library, to see if it would help it did. I have my downloads at the highest quality, Dolby atmos and lossless, could that be it?

When I go to delete the app it tells me all the music I have downloaded or synced into the Music app will be deleted! I assume that includes CDs I own that I have ripped through iTunes. Will it all repopulate once I download the app again and sign in with my Apple ID?

Pretty sure your ripped music will stay in your l library as long as you don't manually remove them from library/cancel subscription. They should be automatically downloaded to your device when you sync back in.

Same problem as all above. Using Music app to play ICloud music library. Music stops shortly after closing the Home Screen. New problem since iOS 15 upgrade. Really annoying, since I routinely use Apple Music to play tunes and playlists for long periods and don’t want to waste battery by keeping screen active.

I also read the iPhone screen locks only during playback of a lossless 192 kHz file. I had also changed the settings for audio quality in Apple Music, too. Maybe the new iOS update will address this bug.

This is a protracted issue and the last iOS update certainly did NOT address the issue. Why hasn’t Apple fixed it? Is there a portal available to formally report the issue to Apple?

Come on apple I mean the same company that makes 5gb updates can easily patch something this easy, but they are too lazy to work on a true issue and instead work on ai and stuff. This is ridiculous and has been happening since iOS 15 released.

Same issue here 6 months after the OP. Spotify has always worked fine for me but recently changed over to Apple Music but now if the screen either sleeps or I lock it the music stops. Seeing that 6 months later a simple issue hasn’t been solved by Apple I’ll just cancel Apple Music and swap back lmao. What a joke.

I’m paid for some expensive beats and the same issue with the lighting adapter cable. Shouldn’t be a issue and I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and it stops playing when I put tap the power button.
