My iPhone 13 Pro Max is stuck in restore progress

With me I noticed if cellular was enabled it paused the restore. It actually said that the restore was paused. Wifi is a must. Enable JUST wifi and then click on each app.

Restarted my phone, couldnt find the "update apple id settings" but it did drop from 100 MB to 3.9MB, then 1.9 MB, back to 3.9MB and now the message is gone. I guess it just need to be restarted. Thank you!

Is your phone plugged it? If it isn’t then the restore will stop whenever the phone sleeps.

Im in the same spot.. just got off with apple support. they told me to do system update and they will call me back in 45 minutes.

When it is not plugged in if the phone screen locks Wi-Fi turns off. It will also pause update if the phone is in low power mode or if the battery is below 50%.

I am having the same stuck issue (at EXACTLY 100MB) during restore of an IOS 15 iCloud backup onto my new IPhone 13 Pro Max (from my old iPhone 8 Plus, which I upgraded to IOS 15 before completing the final backup). Been stuck for well over 3 hours now.

wont let me update iOS.. says " you can install this update when your iPhone is finished restoring from the iCloud backup.".. its like the chickedn and the egg. Restore still stuck at 100 MB required to finich restoring.. this is nuts.

I am having the exact issue from upgrading my iPhone 11 to iPhone 13 pro max just stuck at 100mb

I am on 15.1.1 and am still stuck @ 100MB, noticed with cellular enabled restore is paused.

iPhone plugged in over night still @ 100MB. Worst part about this lots of network services unavailable while this is in this state. (ie pandora, music apps)

NONE of all of these replies helped mine. Stuck since Xmas at "An estimated 17.GB will be required to finish restoring your apps and data". ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

i'm having similar issue...

received iPhone 13 pro max yesterday.

began iCloud+ backup of iPhone X around 4pm yesterday and backup completed by the time I woke up this morning.

this morning around 8am, i started restoring to my iPhone 13 via iCloud+. it's been over 12 hours now and still says "Restore in Progress. an estimated 45.3GB will be required to finish restoring your apps and data." in settings.

Just above that, there's "Update Apple ID Setttings ..... (1)" and when i click "continue" and enter apple ID password, everything's greyed out and i have to force close settings app.

not sure if "update apple ID settings" is halting the restore or if i just need to let it restore until tomorrow morning.

home wifi upload speed is super slow but download speed is much faster. thus restore should be faster than backup, no?

because it does not show how much has been restored so far, i really don't know if it's stuck/froze or still restoring properly.

I have been trying to switch from iPhone X to iPhone 13 with 128 GB for 2 weeks and I keep getting the same message “an estimated 28.1 GB will be required to finish restoring your apps and data” sigh I’m so frustrated. It shows that my storage is mostly used by media (photos and music), but both are optimized and I have deleted so many photos, apps, messages, music and even the music Apps.

I don’t know what else to do. My old phone storage size is 68.9 Gb. Why can’t it all fit in my new iPhone 13 with 128 gb storage space 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mine has been like this since I updated in February.. I didn’t think much of it but now I can’t update my phone. I’ve tried all of these things and nothing has worked. I am trying everything I can to figure out any sort of hint or clue and I think I may have found the problem? It looks like it’s stuck trying to restore from a backup that never happened… I wonder if anyone else who’s having this problem is also stuck on this?
