iPhone 13 notification sound too low

I got my iPhone 13 3 days ago, after using it for 2 full days, I realized that the notification sound is way too low. It applies to WhatsApp, iMessage, email etc. Even though I set all volume to the loudest; and googled how to fix it online then tried everything posted on the internet but still didn't improve.

I changed from iPhone XR to iPhone 13, but my iPhone XR with iOS 14 was perfectly fine, the notification sound was very loud with no issue at all.

ANSWER -- SOLVED

Got to Settings--Accessibility--Face ID & Attention and turn "Attention Aware Features" OFF. If this is set to on and you are using the phone when an alert is triggered, the iphone when locked will lower the volume of "some alerts." Setting this to OFF made my iPhone 13 work the same as my iPhone 6 used to work--volume "sticks" for all alerts.

just received this from apple support, first time they contact me and its to ask me to not go on rants! So funny!!!

I ask you person on the Apple cloud why should I not be able to rant about problems you fail to resolve? I have spent hours trying to figure out what the issue is and the problem has no solution! Yet You Apple Cloud Man! Find it offensive that a customer that purchased 4 Iphone Pro Max with 1T of storage, is troubled because he keeps missing important appointments, texts and emails and you Apple don’t seem to care about a huge flaw.

yes!!! I rant Yes I’m extremely upset yes I read the notification and try what others are trying to see if there is a solution.

It's going on over two months trying to fix your broken system and no solution, and No,,,No!!! I’m not going to use the emergency alarm tone for my text and notifications…

Hi MiffyO

Thanks for that! I was just wondering though, I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro and it's running Catalina. Now when I follow your instructions, I'm not getting very far. I have Apple Music, not iTunes and don't see any of the options you've previously mentioned. I'm guessing you're running an earlier operating system?

Before we go into that though, I think you misunderstood my problem possibly? I've used GarageBand to create ringtones/notification alerts no problem at all. My problem is Whatsapp specific notification tones (As they're ridiculously quiet). When I go into the Whatsapp notification settings, they're are literally only a set few tones that do not include any of my custom tones at all. It has 2 lots of alert tones... "Alert tones" and "Classic". It literally has no option to use any custom ones which I've already created.

If you have a way around this, it would be amazing if you could share this!

Thanks again and sorry to bother you! =)

I have been having the same problem with my 13 Pro Max, started as soon as I got the phone in January. Every tip and forum I've been to simply tells me how to turn the notification volume up, which I already know how to do. Long time iPhone user and this isn't user error, bug in iOS. Glad to see others are experiencing as well, maybe Apple will do something? Please FIX!

I am sorry but I find it hard to believe you.

I have tested at least 16 new iPhones (iPhone 12 and iPhone13 models) in Apple store and Malls.

All of them had the same problem.

Then I have tested all my friends and family iPhones (several 8, 10, XR)…same problem.

You are the only one blessed with Loud Alerts Volume iPhone.

Can you swear that you performed my test correctly and confirm that setting the same “Sonar” sound to both Text Tone and Ringtone, they both have equally loud volume?

Please, if you can and if you want, make a video and post it here or YouTube and show us your Alert Volume working iPhone.

If you’re willing to do it, please do not use the iPhone screen recorder because the internal audio compression normalizes all volumes to the same level and it is impossible to tell the difference. Just use another phone brand to make the video.

Anyway, I am not insinuating that you are a liar, I just think that something is wrong and if you felt that way or your iPhone really works properly, I’ll give my apology.
