Navigation voice volume in Apple maps is missing in iOS 15. It is annoying to hear the map whispering the direction if I play music in my car. I don’t even use the Apple Music app. I use Spotify. How on earth can Apple bring back the Navigation voice volume in Apple Maps.

The trick is to adjust the volume on the *car* radio while Siri is speaking. The CarPlay app will distinguish to adjust that volume rather than the music volume. You’ll even see a different icon on the volume bar when adjusting during that time.

I’ve submitted feedback to Apple (again). They need to bring this feature back. I use an aux cable in my car to connect my iPhone. It’s seriously annoying that I can’t listen to music, or an audiobook, without the navigation voice “shouting” at me. The option should be there, like it was before, to adjust the volume of the navigation voice accordingly. The best for me was to have to it set to “low” most of the time, so that I could hear it, but it didn’t massively interfere with the music I was listening to. Then, sometimes I liked to set the voice to “high” if I needed to concentrate on the road directions more. I really hate that Apple have taken this feature away from us.
This needs to be fixed asap. They need to put this back which is no longer there
The volume is way to low - very dangerous and a safety issue. Why did they remove this option. My kids are now driving and they said the same thing that they cannot hear the talking. It is a whisper. The setting above is gone - no longer exist. This needs to be fixed as a number 1 priority in my opinion on the next software download. Apple do not wait - put it back...this is a safety issue....needs fixing asap
When research how to change the volume on the map app they still have open settings - tap on maps - select navigation & guidance - in navigation voice volume you can choose if want a loud or mute voice - that option no longer exist so no way of hearing the navigation voice. It is way too low. Especially if have others in car talking. This needs to be put back right away - do not wait apple please put it back. This is a safety issue that is affecting everyone
To change the volume in Waze:
Tap My Waze, then Settings
Tap Voice and Sound
Increase or decrease volume on a slider.
I am so annoyed about Apple doing away with a perfectly fine setting for adjusting volume of voice directions. The idiot, and TEAM of idiots who did this should be summarily fired! As should their supervisor!! By simply complaining about this amongst ourselves, we achieve nothing. By ceasing to use the Maps app, we at least make a statement.
Switching to Samsung Galaxy might turn a few heads as well. Apple gets away with shoddy work only because we let them.

My impression (could be wrong!) is that there are two volume settings: One for Siri and another (seen in Control Center) for everything else.

I have tested this in my car and it appears to be correct. Further, in addition to there being an iPhone volume control for Siri vs system sound setting, my car also appears to have 2 separate sound levels for Siri and 'other apps' on my iPhone, making the total number of controls to keep track of 4, haha.

i don't have CarPlay; just a bluetooth connection to my car stereo. so this solution, while clever, won't work for me.
Yeah, the maps voice is way too loud and automatically lowers the music volume. Very annoying!!!!!
You can still mute the voice in Google Maps. Works in CarPlay.
