iPhone 13 Pro won't play through car USB

I recently upgraded from an iPhone X. I’ve never had any issues playing music through the USB in my car. I have tried several times now to play music with my new IPhone 13pro and it simply won’t play. It either acts like it’s going to play and then doesn’t and even if I hit play again it won’t start, or it seems to become frozen and I have to force close my Apple Music/Pandora. The cord is charging my phone so I don’t think it’s an issue with the cable. Has anyone else has this happen since switching to the new model? It will let me play through the AUX port both use the lightning connection to plug in to the phone, I’m not sure what the difference is.

I have the iPhone 13 and was able to play music in my car through aux before the 15.1 update. Immediately after it says aux can’t be found, but my phone still charges. It has to be a software problem. I restarted my car restarted my phone nothing works.

This is not working for my device after multiple attempts, vehicles, and apple certified accessories being in rotation but the problem doesn’t seem to be happening for my fathers IPhone pro 13 or mothers 12.. but on my IPhone 13 pro max the problem persists, is there no other hack/troubleshoots for this issue?

I have contacted support and they’re of no use, beginning to think it’s an actual hardware issue ffs.

I have the same exact problem. I upgraded from an iPhone XS to an iPhone 13 pro and nothing plays through the usb cord. I always used Apple Maps and listened to SiriusXM through the usb and now nothing. SiriusXM I hit play, it’ll load for like 3 seconds and then the radio screen will say pause. This is extremely frustrating so if anyone can help that’ll be great. I tried the EQ thing and it didn’t work.

Okay so after multiple attempts and hours spent at both the Genius Bar and on apple’s support line, updating the phone, resetting all settings, and even completely resetting to to factory and going through the backup process they told me it appeared to be a hardware issue at my local apple store, told me they could get me a new phone blah blah, set up a further appointment because i was irritated and fed up and went home that night powered my phone off and woke up the next morning and plugged it into my car and the problem magically fucking vanished? hopefully some of you have the same experience and don’t need knew phones as I thought I was going to need myself.

I find it highly unlikely it’s a hardware problem that I’m experiencing. I’m convinced it’s some type of software problem. Possibly trying to play the music through airplay?(I don’t even know what AirPlay is but I know my car can’t do that). Or possibly my phone is trying to play through Bluetooth and it can’t(cause my car can’t do that either) so it just gives up? But then again it won’t even give me directions from any map app via speakers. Possibly the old usb cable that I use can’t read data coming from the phone to the radio? My car doesn’t have a usb-c dock so I’m using the regular usb cable. So many questions…

I to recently upgraded from an iPhone XR to a iPhone 13 Pro and it, iPhone 13 Pro, when connected via the AUX will not play Apple Music either. Actually, it won’t play any audio whatsoever from any app. Previously with my XR I had zero issues when wanting to connect and play music via the AUX. I can using Bluetooth, but I like to use the AUX sometimes because it’s better quality sound and much louder than using Bluetooth. I’m about to try the other response about the iPhones equalizer. I do know mine is set to Late Night because it plays the loudest of all the equalizer choices and still sounds good. Hopefully his/her advice about turning it off I believe they said will work. If not, I’ll be back to see if anyone has posted any other possible tricks to getting Apple Music, or any audio for that matter, playing from my iPhone 13 Pro via my card AUX input when previously I had no issues doing this that with my iPhone XR. I drive a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited with a premium audio/navigation package just so others know if they are having the same issue(s) with a new mobile phone in the same car when previously it, AUX input, worked with their older phone. Now, let’s see if the equalizer trick works?!?! Will post with hopefully a “**** Yeah, it worked” soon, and not a “**** It, no equalizer trick luck for me”

TURN EQUALIZER OFF ON iPHONE TO FIX/ENABLE ALL iPHONE 13 SERIES/MODELS (i.e. iPhone 13 Mini • iPhone 13 • iPhone 13 Pro • iPhone 13 Pro Max) NOT BEING ABLE OR ALLOWING YOU TO PLAY MUSIC, OR ANY AUDIO FOR THAT MATTER, FROM ALL iPHONE 13’s VIA A VEHICLE AUX INPUT. THIS IS VERY SIMPLE FOR ANYONE TO CHANGE IN THEIR iPHONES SETTINGS.

Go to:

SETTINGS ➡️ MUSIC. ➡️ EQ. ➡️ OFF

NOW RETURN TO APPLE MUSIC, PLUG IN YOUR PHONE TO YOUR AUX CABLE, THEN THE AUX CABLE INTO YOUR CARS AUX INPUT AND PRESTO, YOU HAVE YOUR MUSIC BACK PLAYING IN YIUR CAR VIA THE AUX INPUT WHICH HAS MUCH BETTER SOUND THAN BLUETOOTH.
