Turn off mute sound on iPhone

Hi,

I recently upgraded to iOS 15 and when I am on phone call, if I press the mute button or speaker button ( inside the phone call/ while I am on the call), it makes a clicking sound ( this lets the person on other side of call know that I put them on speaker / hold/ mute , because of the button press sound that I can hear as well as the other person on the call). How do I fix this , or press mute / speaker buttons without making sound.

I did try sound haptics turn off, sound settings all off etc, but none of the solutions worked.

thanks so much in advance.

I need to use the mute/speaker button a lot. When I use either button the phone makes an audible sound letting the other person know I muted them. Not ideal for work meetings when I need to mute, and unmute frequently. Please fix to allow disabling this feature. It was not on the previous iPhones. This is not good.

Nope. I've looked through every post and there is no response from any Apple Employees in this thread. The only Apple employees who do respond are what are called Community Specialist. They only provide standard answers to threads which have not been responded to by us users after 24 hours. They do not communicate with Apple Engineering at All. And there are forum hosts, whose job is to monitor posts for violation of Terms of Use. They can at their discretion, edit or delete posts which do violate those terms.

It's super annoying and I'd love to know why Apple decided to add yet another user-unfriendly feature, but when I tested for myself, using another phone on speaker, the pinging off/on mute sound doesn't seem to go through to the other party, much like you can listen to music or watch a video and the other person can't hear it, only you. Let us know if you have a different experience.

This is the most annoying feature.

Apple iPhone used to be tailored to the individual,

that was Steve Jobs vision.

The fact that there is no option to take the sound off- for all of those who don’t like it - creates friction - the opposite of unique to the individual-

makes me want to not use the iPhone any longer and I only have the update for a day ,

already looking to other phones more tailored to me , or able to be custom to me.

I see a lot of griping and other useless comments on this thread, but has anyone actually confirmed with Apple if it Is or Is Not possible to disable the unwanted sounds in the Phone app whenever a participant taps the Mute button during a call? I haven't found any way to do this.

Planning to call Apple support to find out if there's a setting hidden somewhere.

Provided this feedback to Apple...

Please add a setting to disable sounds whenever a caller taps the Mute button in the Phone app.

This most annoying and useless feature interferes with a caller's ability to focus on the content of calls.

I can't believe Apple would add this so-called feature without providing a setting to disable it. I shouldn't have to be asking for this setting here.

There was one a time when customers could count on Apple to know better than to do this kind of ****. WTF happened?
