Apple Carplay doesn't work

I recently changed my iPhone to an iPhone 12 Pro Max from an XR. Apple Carplay worked perfectly with XR, but today, for the first time since I bough my iPhone 12 Pro Max and updated to IOS 15 I connected it to my car and Apple Carplay did not work.

I connected the cable to the iPhone and then to the car via USB and the Apple Carplay button on the screen appeared grey as if it were working, but when I tried to play songs from Music and click on the screen none of the apps worked. The screen was frozen.

Can anyone suggest any solutions to this?

Thanks!

We def want to make sure your iOS is updated on your iPhone also if issues persist you may need to make sure the car stereo firmware is fully updated may have to refer to dealership/manufacturers of stereo for that. Also another good isolation tactic is to see if CarPlay works in another car with your iOS device.

Make sure your vehicle is a CarPlay compatible vehicle here https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/available-models/

ps If your iOS is fully updated and your car is a CarPlay compatible automobile then let’s make sure your iOS is fully updated along with making sure your car stereo firmware is fully updated and may even have to refer to manufacture/dealership for that. We also can isolate the issue by testing another iOS device with your car to see if it works along with testing your iOS device in another CarPlay vehicle. Them isolation steps would tell you if there is an issue with your car stereo or not.
