Bootcamp Windows Error 0xc0000225 after Partition Resize

Dear all,

I had windows 10 in bootcamp for many years. Recently I decided to resize partitions and add sum space to windows. I reduced the size of mac partition from disk utility and restarted the system and suddenly the choice to entering windows disappeared. I reverted back the mac partition but nothing changed. I installed gdisk and did what I found in other threads. After that the choice to enter windows appeared but when I clicked it it showed error 0xc0000225. I booted with windows installer and did startup repair but nothing changed. I did fixboot and fixmbr and rebuildbcd but still nothing changed. Who can help me?

Thank you

Take a look at El Capitan has deleted my bootcamp window… - Apple Community. It uses Testdisk to locate the NTFS partition. If you can locate it, it may be possible to recovery your Windows partition.

Thank you for response

I have executed testdisk and saw windows folders.

After that I executed sudo disk /dev/disk0 and did the things in threads but still windows cannot boot.

I did fixmbr, fixboot, and rebuildbcd but does not work.

What is the next step?

Here are details:

Your GPT entry shows...

488124416  488980480      3  GPT part - EBD0A0A2-B9E5-4433-87C0-68B6B72699C7

which is different. Can you correct the entry? If you are unable to use the exact values, we may need to change the default alignment of GPT Fdisk from 8 sectors to 1 sector.

The BCD for a an EFI Boot is located in a different location than the legacy BIOS Boot. See the description of the "/s" qualifier in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/bcdboot-command-line-options-techref-di.

Your 2014 Mac supports both EFI and legacy BIOS installations. If your Windows installation is an EFI installation the BCD must be be rebuild after you set the correct System Device.

If /fixBoot /fixMBR and /rebuildBCD were run on the X: device which is your USB external boot device, it will not correct the BCD on the internal disk. Also, see https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/308729/recover-bootcamp-efi-folder-fix-boot-entries.

The problem now is I cannot boot even with windows installer flash drive anymore.

I tested two flash drive with two different build of windows but no success.

I don't know what happened. It's odd.

Oh wait ...

One of my flashes showed two icons in boot: EFI and Windows.

I selected Windows not EFI then Shift+F10 then /scanOS, /fixBoot, /fixMBR and /rebuildBCD and this time rebuildbcd executed successfully.

Now I am in Windows.

Problem Solved.

Thank you Loner T

Thank you very very very much

God bless you
