Safari 15 keeps logging me out of several sites every week or so

Checking in again. I was on a good roll there for a while using Safari Technology Preview, then after an update I switched back to Safari. It was doing fine, but then it started happening again. Slower at first and then increasing as time went on. I'm back to STP again. So frustrating. Why isn't a fix happening?

I'm wondering about the same thing, it's a really horrible and annoying bug. The two leads I have now on what causes it is:

• when opening and using the web console, so I guess it mostly annoys developers.
• according to other users who do not have this problem, they are using x86 systems, so it seems to affect the M1 version only.

With these leads in mind it shouldn't be too hard to find right?

I'm personally on an intel mac and have had this problem frequently enough to switch browsers.

The point about the web console is interesting. I've noticed it in plain safari with a web console open in safari technology preview.

Another interesting fact is when I get logged out of google and log in again, I get a security email from google as if I just logged in from a new browser/computer/location that it doesn't recognize.

Waiting for new update from Apple and install them right away to see if they have fixed the issue with Safari but nope. Even the 15.4 update still have this issue. It’s insane, I loved using Safari because of sync with other devices and keychain but seriously Apple 6 months and you cannot resolve this? Shame

You left me no option then to switch browser as I am starting to feel, this will not be fixed soon. I have numerous sent numerous complaints from feedback aap and called Apple couple of times on this and no good outcome.

Sad to report that this is still a problem on Safari 15.6.

I opened the console to check, and Safari subsequently logged me out of almost every site.

Safari's developer tools continue to trigger this bug.

Not just google sites. For me it’s also: mailgun, laravel forge, mailtrap, twitter and others.

Yes, I can confirm that problem is reliably reproduced by using the "Developer Tools" in Safari: once opened I have to login everywhere again short after.

Safari 16 was released yesterday and it still has the logout bug.

I have the same problem, although not every week or so but rather several times a day – this does not feel good. I am fairly tech savvy and had "everything security and privacy" under control, I definitely don't like it when software overrides my previous settings without consent.

It keeps randomly hitting me. I had the same issues after upgrading. Then it seemed to go away for about 10 days. Today, it's constantly reset itself. I'm getting sick of having to go through two factor authentication, to then repeat it again, half an hour later. The only difference between today's activity and yesterday is that I have Visual Studio running and had Safari set as my testing browser.

I'm not happy any of us are experiencing this issue, but I am happy to know that I'm not the only person with this situation. Nothing I've seen online seems to be an appropriate fix. Hopefully, Apple addresses this soon.

Technical support cannot say anything about this, except as "it should be" or "maybe these are the problems of the sites you are using." But: firstly, all sites cannot immediately break sessions; secondly, this is not the case in other browsers.
