I cannot add any tickets or boarding passes to my apple wallet
OMG so frustrating. Same issue. Clicking on the "add to wallet" button with Firefox did nothing. (Actually, a little loading bar zipped across the top --- so it looked like Firefox did it's bit, but then nothing showed up in Apple Wallet). Opened up the same page (ticketmaster) in Safari and it worked just like it was supposed to.
It doesn't work on my iPhone 13 either when boarding pass link from AA from my email and click on the Add to Apple Wallet button. I work around it by copying the link to Google Chrome and I can add my boarding pass to Apple Wallet.
I received an email that said my final 4 tix were in my Ticketmaster acct. they weren’t. The link they provided didn’t work on safari - but it did in Firefox. The tix wouldn’t add to my wallet HoWEVER I copied the url from the Firefox page where I could see the tix to Safari - it opened! And I saved the tix to my wallet.
I had the same issue but I think have worked it out. Clicked on ticket link - the screen that opens is actually still within your email app and Add to Apple Wallet is there but dead. Go to Open In Browser and wallet works again.
That was the answer! The “helpful” article Apple provided was a complete waste of time (check all settings, reboot, etc). YOU HAVE TO CLICK IT ONLY IN SAFARI (what a relief but, yes, another reason to dislike Apple - how extremely irritating and why didn’t they just tell you that in the first place)!
Button is visible in Firefox and does an action but won't actually add to Wallet. After loading URL in Safari, loaded into Wallet on the first click. Apple should enable any browser to add something to Wallet.
I found your question when I had this same problem so wanted to respond with how I fixed it. I was able to add my tickets as long as I was in Safari. My problem was that I was accessing the tickets from browsers other than Safari. If you haven't found a fix yet, I hope this helps.
the question was Oct 2021. the event is more than likely over long ago. Using safari is a good idea and in part of the instructions on Apple's Knowledge based article referenced at some in one of the answers.
Embarrassingly, I only ever use Safari on my iPhone. I hit Add To Apple Wallet button and either nothing happens or, like today, I get this: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” Yah. All in Safari. Oddly, when I tap GPay Save To Phone button, it appears to open in my Google wallet, which I didn’t even know I had. Except it’s still online in Safari. So now I’m downloading GPay, which I suppose is where I’ll find my Google wallet in app form. So I’ll have three wallet apps - Apple Wallet, Google wallet, and that stupid NYS wallet with my Covid vaccines
This is why we old people hate technology.
Yes, after trying Chrome (default browser), Firefox, and lastly, Safari on my iphone - my tickets were only able to be saved to Apple Wallet by using Safari. Apple is truly heinous and the opposite of "inclusive."
I know how to add to the Apple wallet so no need to send an explanatory link, the issue is that it is not working and says there’s a data problem? Does anyone from Apple support have a solution please?
Okay, I just did this: you need to copy the ticketmaster or whatever website where your tickets are housed. Then MANUALLY paste them to the Safari app. It FINALLY worked. It could be that you automatically have Google as your default browser. That's what I have. So you have to manually take the website to Safari and paste it to THAT browser. Sign in to wherever you are getting your tix, then the tickets AND the link to Wallet will show, AND IT WORKS!!!! HOORAY! I hope that helps! This is a litlle more detailed than other answers; as you can see, I am "TechnoOld", so if it works for ME.... :D
I have the same issue with my season football tickets. I only use the Safari browser, hit "add to wallet" and it does nothing. The same thing happens when I open it using the Browns app. Going through Ticketmaster, other browsers, none of that helps. Wish we could get an actual answer, been broken all last season as well.
I earned a gift card in an app. The app displayed the “Add to Apple Wallet” button, pressing on which did nothing. After reading replies here about opening it in Safari (which I could not because this was not a web page), I did a long-press on the button. That displayed a link. I copied that link and opened it in Safari and it worked.
I was having trouble adding boarding passes to my Apple Wallet from the southwest app on my phone. When I tapped the Add to wallet button on the boarding pass in Southwest add I got an error message: add to Wallet failed.
I found the solution - when I disconnected in my VPN add (NordVPN) and retried the save to wallet succeeded. This is one of the items in a previous post’s things to try.
I hope that helps!
I had to work with the vendor directly, they sent me a link via text message and email to redeem my tickets. Using the redeem link they sent me directly made it possible to have a version of tickets I could add to my Apple wallet. This was for Sun Devils Athletic events.
