iPhone 13 camera not focusing when capturing a photo 8-10 cm away

My iPhone 13 camera is not focusing properly. It doesn't focus when it is around 8-10 cm away from the object for a close up shot. Is everybody with an iPhone 13 experiencing this problem? I went to my local store which diagnosed my device and they said that there is no problem. But I am very suspicious. So does anybody else have this problem? Can anybody confirm this problem?

It has nothing to do with your point of view. It has EVERYTHING to do with what your iPhone 13 is capable of. And what you want and expect it to do, it can't. I didn't design the new cameras. I don't work for Apple. No one here works for Apple on this user to user only forum.

But I was well aware of the difference between iPhone 13 and 13 Pro cameras and I chose the Pro because its cameras are more advanced than iPhone 13. There should be advantages to paying more for a product. And this is one area the Pro's outperform the standard 13.

I understand you're hoping it's a software thing. I can assure you it's not. iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max did not have Macro photography abilities. People complained and Apple added Macro to the 13 Pro models this year. It's just not going to come to a standard 13. Sorry.

See this link and compare the features between iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. You'll notice the 13 Pro specifically says Macro Photography, which the 13 does not --> https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

No! As those of us who have been lifetime Apple people we should not need to go see if an iphone 13 can match a photo to an iphone 8 plus. I don't need a Pro Max. I don't need professional photos, just a decent photo. I'm guessing if you bought a 13 you would be miffed also. It's not just the photos either. The apps freeze, you can be in the middle of a bank app transaction and it constantly shuts off. Facebook will freeze. Photos just freeze. My apps are updated. My updates are current.

I felt for me it was user error. I was going from an 8 plus to the 13. The photo issue is just one of many problems my phone has. To say I should have returned it within 14 days I was still on a learning curve of trying to learn everything I could. Maybe Apple should have been the one to say the 13 is not your old iphone. When you show all the specs tell people don't expect good close up photos. My husband has the little iphone se and gets amazing photos. I think that is the issue, people expected more.

You're absolutely right. I most definitely didn't buy iPhone 13. I did my research before I ordered my phone and recognized the significant advantage the Pro models offered, so I bought the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

As to issues with Apps freezing, etc., I have absolutely no issues on my phone. When apps freeze, it can often be a result of lack of storage. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage - How much free space do you have? It can also be a result of a poor Wifi signal as a banking app as example would require a good connection to run.

I use my 13 Pro Max all day every day and I've seen none of the issues you speak of - no frozen apps, no issues from Facebook that aren't due to Facebook's usual issues (I've seen the same issues using a browser on their site I have in their app, so it's not the iPhone.)

I get none of that helps, but especially with third party apps the issues are almost always… the third party apps.

I'm not trying to deny or play down your issues, but it's definitely not a global experience.
