My iPhone 13 camera is not focusing properly. It doesn't focus when it is around 8-10 cm away from the object for a close up shot. Is everybody with an iPhone 13 experiencing this problem? I went to my local store which diagnosed my device and they said that there is no problem. But I am very suspicious. So does anybody else have this problem? Can anybody confirm this problem?
But how is an iPhone 6 able to take a closeup picture 8-20 cm away, while an iPhone 13 isn’t? Taking picture from close range is something every phone should be familiar of doing? So am I supposed to pay 200 extra dollars to get a phone that can do the same thing as an iPhone 6. Why didn’t apple mention this when they were representing the new iPhone 13?
Agree with you on this. MACRO vs CLOSEUP. iPhone 13 mini does not do CLOSEUPS! Cheaper/older models do this without effort.
The focus issue is ONLY in the PHOTO mode and is less a problem in the other ones (Pano, Portrait, Video, etc...)
That's correct, because the cameras on iPhone 13 are not designed for close-up photography. Apple specifically engineered the Pro models for close-up photography.

This doesn’t make sense, older models are capable of doing this simple task. This isn’t by design.

This is by design and will not be "fixed" because it is not broken; it's something the optical systems on that model were not designed to do.
No, you need to turn Auto Macro on iPhone 13 Pro or manually change to the wide angle camera. To change to auto macro:
Setting > Camera > Auto Macro on

I don't need macro photos. I just expected my iPhone 13 to take better photos then my 8 plus.

This is exactly what the "Auto Macro" setting does, it makes this shift for you.
I read in documentation that focus diastase in iPhone 13 and 13 mini is 26mm. So it must makes close photos too
