Screen saver broken in Monterey
When selecting the Photos library or a folder of photos, they do not render. Have tried various options (e.g., Classic, Ken Burns, etc.). No luck.

I wanted to edit this to add to it, but can't do that, so here we go. I did notice on the iMac that if I pick any other screen saver, Monterey, Hello etc. they work, it is just with photos that they do not work.
I now use a photo for my wallpaper and when I shut down and turn my iMac on again, the default Monterey wallpaper is set again. Very weird.
mac mini 2104 and I can't see my photos on my screen saver......
Definitely not working since Monterey 'upgrade' on my IMAC
Amen to dreading upgrades aka downgrades.
I have the same issue together with bluetooth mouse not working. Crappiest update ever. Tim&Co should be replaced asap.
It was a huge mistake on my side. My bluetooth mouse is not working either. Total crap and shame on Apple!
There was an issue before with long loading screensaver time. It took Apple 1 year to fix. It is not the same company in terms of product quality as before. Steve Jobs finish is gone.
Discovered the same problem after the Monterey upgrade. Very irritating. Have sent a bug report to Apple and hope that it is dealt with asap!
Rebuilded library doesn't work either. Nor does the default option "Colors". Just the clock floating here and there.
Yeah, they finally broke it completely. This is 10 years old bug. In previous versions problem could have been solved by turning "show with clock" option on.
I would like Apple to tell us what they are doing to fix this. Apple Support team simply says that screen saver was updated and doesn't work the same anymore. Mine doesn't work at all.
I just completed to setup a new MBP 16" M1Pro.
And voila...
All the screen savers work!!!!!
I hope this is not a way to force us to purchase a new M1 Mac...
It seems to not have so much to do with the M1, it appears to work on MBP but not on desktop iMacs, My 2016 MBP works perfect, my iMac does not.
It does not work on my MBP.:
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
Processor 2.04 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
64 GB memory
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8Gb
To make things worse, Apple was aware of issues with Bluetooth, USB and screensavers (plenty of evidence in the forums during the beta stage) but decided to release Monterey anyway. Unacceptable.
