Quicktime video recording stops at 10:55 in MacOS Monterey

Since upgrading to MacOS Monterey, Quicktime Player now stops recording at 10 minute and 55 seconds. I can no longer record any video segments longer than that. Prior to upgrading, I routinely recorded Quicktime videos in excess of one hour.

I've confirmed that this behavior occurs both with the built-in Mac camera and an external Logitech Brio camera.

It is resolved. I made the adjustment with the battery options... Make sure that all boxes in "Battery" option are unchecked except "Optimized battery charging" and "Show battery status in menu bar" and go to "Power Adapter" option to uncheck all boxes. It is important that "Turn display off after:" changed to "Never" on both "Battery" and "Power Adapter". I tested it and the camera recording ran more than 20 minutes without abruptly stopped it.

Me too, I have the same problem with 10:55 min regardless built-in camera or external camera (Brio). It has nothing to do with the screensaver because I did test it while did my stuff... it stopped at 10:55. MacOS Monterey has to do with it. Wait to find out what is the solution. Pretty much depending on it for my projects. As of now, I am using my iphone 13 but it is inconvenient.

there is a lot of VHS talk going on here what are you guys recording videos of time capsule porn? Haha. I have not had the 10:55 issue with recording on high, still stops on maximum at 10:55 when I use my 2020 MacBook Pro M1 running Monterey using a Logitech c920s webcam. However, the 10:55 problem I am nowhere near a solution when using same equipment and same OS on my 21.5 inch iMac 5K retina desktop. So, Apple, please make my Monterey, Monterey, Monterey…Monterey problems please make them go away..

An update on my situation:

Now the new account trick isn't working either. Test account one began to experience the recording bug while attempting another try at video capture. I set up Amphetamine before recording, and I assumed that is what was causing the bug. So I did some test recordings after closing the Amphetamine app and using the default power settings. The bug still occurs.

Went ahead and deleted test account one and created test account two. I'm encountering the recording bug on test account two right away with no third-party apps set up or running. Amphetamine wasn't set up and is disabled completely.

Apple support was supposed to give me a phone call yesterday afternoon, but the call never came at the scheduled time. Despite that, I will let the support chat know about my test accounts experiencing the recording issue.

As a last resort, I tried running QuickTime via terminal to see if any errors or messages appeared when the recordings fail. No such messages appear.

Frustrating....
