MacBook Pro M1 external display issues

Has anyone managed to fix the issues regarding connecting an external display to a brand new 2020 MacBook Pro M1? I have updated the software to Monterey 12.0.1 and rebooted numerous times without any success.

The adapter I am using works perfectly fine on an iMac yet isn't detected on my MacBook. 'Detect Display' is also unavailable although mentioned in the user guide.

Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display not working with new M1 based PowerBooks I have a 27" Apple Thunderbolt display that I connect to my MacBookPro with the Apple Adapter. It has worked great for many years. Unfortunately I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to one with the new Apple M1 chip and my display no longer works. I have tried several M1 Macs and different adaptors (Apple and non-able) and they won't connect. I CAN connect the M1 Macs to the older Apple 27" display with the older non-thunderbolt port. Can someone please explain this this me and recommend a solution. You would think the thunderbolt display would work......

New Macbook Air M2 won't connect to external display I have two old 20-inch Cinema Displays that I've used for years with my previous generation Macbook Air. I just picked up my new 2022 Air, which required me to buy this adapter - Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple I connect it to the new Macbook Air...nothing. I unplug everything, power down and try again. Nothing. I find an article that says I need to hit the scale button in the Displays dashboard of system preferences and hold down the option key to "Detect Displays," but nothing that allows me to detect displays pops up. Any tips...short of returning the new computer and getting the newest version of the previous Air, which I at least know will work with the setup I prefer?

We understand your external display isn't detected on your MacBook. Are you able to test with a different adaptor? We would also recommend the steps in the following article:
