iOS 15.1/ music not working

I can confirm that my USB is also not connecting to my 2012 Chevy Cruze. For the time being my only song I can listen to is "The Sound of Silence". I am so paranoid that Apple will completely kill USB connectivity without letting their consumers know. They are always killing off older features because they feel they're outdated. Hopefully the more of us that speak out can convince the mega-corporation to give us fun features back.

i have the SAME exact issue with my 2014 Chevy Cruze, i didn't want to update my phone just yet but it did overnight and i tried playing my music and it just doesn't want to connect. i've tried turning my car on and off, restarting my phone, using a different cable, and turning off my hotspot and bluetooth, but nothing. i have no idea why it's doing this but apple surely needs to fix it!!

This did not work. It is iOS 15.1 software. It’s December. Being a multi billion dollar company think you’d fix an ongoing issue many have reported rather than pushing out more of the same phone with slight updates.

I’m having the same issue with my Chevy 2012 iPhone 12. I called Apple customer service and they told me there is nothing they can do to help me and to call my car manufacturer. So basically they don’t care. Great 👍

Don’t waste your time doing that. Your car isn’t the issue. It was the update that just went through. All we can do is keep complaining until apple takes notice and sends another update out to fix this issue..

Yes! Since this update, my son and I cannot listen to our music in either of our GMC/Chevy cars, using our charging cords, and my son can’t connect to Bluetooth in the car. Please send through a fix for this ASAP

Agreed! I have called twice today, thinking I would get a different solution. But nope. I will be calling everyday. I’m paying for Apple Music and can’t even listen on my way home from work. That’s a big inconvenience for me.

i'm pretty frustrated with this as well. Been wondering why it hasn't been working. so i come to look online to see that y'all are saying the same thing as most of us, but yet there has been no answer. does someone have an answer?

I spoke with Apple Support Supervisor who said it is a known issue, that they have had numerous reports, that it’s being evaluated and it “might” be fixed with the next update. No timeline and “to call back if not fixed after next update.

And I have the same car, and I’m having the same exact problem. I’ve tried multiple USB cords and nothing is working anymore. I only had to stay shoes the morning after I got the new iOS update. Hoping some things change soon.

Hello everyone, I can confirm that an Aux to lighting cable still works in my 2012 Chevy Cruze. However, this means you’ll have to shell out $$$ for that cable if you don’t own it. Also, it doesn’t charge the phone while playing and you cannot control the music from the car’s radio dashboard. I can use my Apple watch to skip songs while driving or by using the actual phone (which is super dangerous Apple!). But at least I can still listen to my Apple Music in my Cruze.

I was wrong, the forget all adapters idea didn’t work. It worked once then stopped working. I did get it working now but I had to get the iOttie Easy One Touch phone mount that has built in Alexa. I think the Bluetooth allowed me to connect. Idk how but it did

Apple is trying to make it appear to not be their fault. Ultimately everything worked just fine until the update occurred. There’s people with older and newer model cars complaining with different manufacturers so it isn’t the manufacturers problem as apple has stated. They need to come up with a fix. This is horrible. In all honesty An android update would never 🙄.

I also have a 2015 Chevy Cruise and having the same problem. I do a lot of traveling and this problem also extends to Google maps. I am looking for answers on here and haven’t seen one yet that addresses Apple acknowledgment and plan on fixing the problem!
