Hi.
I am not able to use my Escape (Esc) key after upgrading to MacOS Monterrey 12.0.1. I am confident that it is not a hardware issue.
Here is what I tried:
The Esc key won't work/register/detect/respond.
Is anybody else facing the same issue? My device is MacBook Air M1.

I sure that this is related with Siri.app, because CMD+Space long press not working also. Siri app from menubar not responding at all.
How to fix it:
Go to Activity Monitor > Kill process Siri.app
Now Esc will work correctly.

thanks, man I just updated my OS and the same thing was occurring I closed everything Siri-related even though I wasn't sure what it was and it works.
A simpler solution: disable Siri, then enable Siri in System Preferences solved this in my case. No need to restart, log out log in, or kill Siri process.

Wow this was exactly the problem!
First notice in Google Sheets on Chrome, but then realized it was system wide.
Force-quit of Siri app fixed it!

Yes, it is bad. It should never be let near your mac.
Any program that claims to “clean”, “optimize” or “speed up” your mac is a scam.
