Dear Apple,
I recently had a long and detailed interaction with a very effective advisor regarding this issue, and we determined that, in fact, the link in the App Store to download and install macOS Big Sur isn't working. A click on "GET" results in a Software Update search for the package, and an error message that says, "Update not found - The requested version of macOS is not available."
How's the effort coming along to make it available?

BS found and then click on download ...and the answer = update NOT found
Try using softwareupdate in Terminal:
softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.6.1
Hallejulia... the lost update has returned.

Actually - just tried Open Terminal and copy and paste this command without quotation marks " softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.6.1 ". and it did work
