How to install PHP zip extension / module in Macbook M1

When using composer I get: "Install or enable PHP's zip extension"

Checking the available PHP modules with PHP -m, I don't see any zip module listed.

How to install a PHP zip in a Macbook Pro chip M1?

What is "composer"?

Here is a site that explains how to install a PHP module on a Mac. See https://michaelgracie.com/2011/07/plugging-mcrypt-into-php-on-mac-os-x-lion-10-7/. This is a really old site, but then so is PHP. 😄

You might want to consider installing your own version of PHP. PHP is not included in macOS 12 Monterey. If you do upgrade, that might be a problem for you.
