I cannot hear the directions in maps while driving. In iOS 14 you could change the setting to hear the directions over the phone and not through bluetooth. My car has carplay, and I like being able to answer my phone that way, but I my van does not allow bluetooth to play over the radio, rendering maps extremely difficult to use. I do not want to HAVE to stream music to hear the directions. Is there any way to still hear maps directions over my iPhone?

We see that you need help connecting your iPhone to your car.
If you're using CarPlay, you can adjust the turn-by-turn direction by following the steps here: Get turn-by-turn directions with CarPlay.
If your iPhone is connected via Bluetooth, all device sound should go through Bluetooth. If you listen to other radio sources like FM, AM, or XM, you won't hear audio from a Bluetooth source. You don't have to stream music to hear sound from Maps, but you have to be on the Bluetooth source in your vehicle. If you disconnect your iPhone from Bluetooth, sound from Maps will go through the iPhone speakers.
