Clean install MacOS Big Sur using a bootable drive

I erased my MacBook Air 2018, in order to clean install Mac OS Big Sur, from a bootable drive.

the problem I am facing is that, when I try installing from my bootable drive, it goes into internet recovery mode.

Is there a way I can bypass this and install directly from the usb drive.

Responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you holding down the "option" key when booting? If the external drive was created correctly, it should show up as an option to select. If it is not showing up, the bootable installer was not made correctly.
