you could also grey the part of the caller list “behind” the end call button for 1/2 to 1 sec after the other person ends the call.

This is INFURIATING. Why hasn't this been fixed? Ending the call with the power button is a workaround, not a solution.

I have the same problem with the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Whenever I have started a phone call from the call list, I don't dare to hang up with the red button after the call has ended. Since it can happen if my conversation partner has hung up earlier, the page to hang up disappears and I then accidentally press any last contact from the call list.

Since the connection is established immediately, I have often called someone pointless in the last few months, which I did not want.

Apple please fix the problem, it's so annoying this error.

This is happening continually to me as well. Was wondering if it was due to speed of new phones compared to my iphone 11. I always seem to be just a hair late and then have to text person to apologize. Some kind of patch fix would be nice

After pressing the red end call button my phone begins to immediately call another person on my favorites list. I’m known as the butt dialer of the family. I call multiple family members unknowingly each day by accident. Can you Please help!

I have the same problem. I make a call, end the call by pushing the red button. My iPhone 13 Pro Max will then make a random call from my contacts even while sitting on my desk. If I see it before the person answers, I will hit end again. The person calls back later to see what I wanted. If the person answers, I explain that my phone did it. My phone continues to make another call. Very frustrating and time consuming. For such an expensive phone, one would expect it to work as good, if not better than previous versions of the iPhone. I have had iPhones from the birth of the iPhones and never experienced this before.

I also had an incident when I yelled out to my wife in a store "where are you" and with my phone in my pocket, Siri answered "I am right here!"

Note: All of the calls above were made by selecting the contact, and not by using Siri

This happens to me as well and it's VERY annoying.

I think the best fix would be to have a switch that lets the user have a delay after the black "calling screen" closes, and during this delay the screen is unresponsive to touch, or maybe just the area of the screen right under the red "hangup" button. I think to let the user adjust the time of the delay would also be a good idea. Have this delay be switchable, because everyone wouldn't need it, and have it adjustable in length of delay. I wouldn't think I would want mine any longer than 0.5 seconds, but it would be nice to be able to adjust it some.

Yes... this really should be flagged and resolved quickly. I am sure that before there was a delay between the hangup and the appearance of the phone screen or ability to dial. 500ms would probably be about where it needs to be, but I'd be fine with a one second delay.

The feedback will get seen and read, regardless of how many people submit the same thing. Apple reads all of them. They are, however, quite clear that a response should not be expected.

You didn’t read or didn’t understand the reason this happens. If you tap to hang up, but the other party had hung up first, the button turns to a Call button, and it will call the last number called. So the other solution is to wait a couple of seconds before tapping the red button.
