How to Avoid Accidental Back-to-Back Calls on iPhone 13 Pro Max

Since my new iphone 13 pro max (or maybe ios15?): when I hang up my call, i start immediately calling someone else, due to the fact the calling screen goes away so extremely fast if the other one on the phone is hanging up earlier: I press hang up, but the screen goes away so fast if the other one is faster, that I press calling the one in my list that was behind the "end phonecall button".

I didn't have this before, now I call 3 people a day by accident. Anyone else the same issue?

Same here on iPhone 12 pro on iOS 15.

This is a major flaw in a core function of this device.

It is unsafe to use the red button to hang up a call.

Once I called my boss by accident at 11:30 PM, because unfortunately he was the entry under the red button at this moment.

OMG

Please Apple, do something! Your product should not lead to such shameful moments.

I wrote a product feedback suggestion to Apple two months ago, but nothing happended since then.

I have the same problem. I make a call, end the call by pushing the red button. My iPhone 13 Pro Max will then make a random call from my contacts even while sitting on my desk. If I see it before the person answers, I will hit end again. The person calls back later to see what I wanted. If the person answers, I explain that my phone did it. My phone continues to make another call. Very frustrating and time consuming. For such an expensive phone, one would expect it to work as good, if not better than previous versions of the iPhone. I have had iPhones from the birth of the iPhones and never experienced this before.

I also had an incident when I yelled out to my wife in a store "where are you" and with my phone in my pocket, Siri answered "I am right here!"

Note: All of the calls above were made by selecting the contact, and not by using Siri

Apple, please fix this problem!

This happens to me as well and it's VERY annoying.

I think the best fix would be to have a switch that lets the user have a delay after the black "calling screen" closes, and during this delay the screen is unresponsive to touch, or maybe just the area of the screen right under the red "hangup" button. I think to let the user adjust the time of the delay would also be a good idea. Have this delay be switchable, because everyone wouldn't need it, and have it adjustable in length of delay. I wouldn't think I would want mine any longer than 0.5 seconds, but it would be nice to be able to adjust it some.

Apple, are you listening?

This issue has been plaguing me since iOS 15 released and I finally decided to check if I was the only one and wow apparently not lol. I've had some really embarrassing moments thanks to this. I'm not sure you can really call this a bug but it's definitely something Apple overlooked during their testing. I'm really surprised a solution hasn't been given yet by Apple but maybe there just hasn't been enough people vocal about it. I've essentially been quiet about it for months because I mostly thought it was my fault.

Same here on my SE. I accidentally call my boss 2-3 times a day. Now I just stare at the red button for 10 seconds before I hang up. That helps, but doesn’t solve it. Sometimes, I still get the timing wrong. It’s very frustrating. I’m relieved to see it’s not just me, but man, is it infuriating (but not shocking) that Apple hasn’t fixed it. I’ve been pretty done with them ever since they removed the original headphone jack. It’s like Apple is hellbent on making life MORE difficult for us. Technology is supposed to be helpful. Apple is more concerned with being uselessly “innovative” than listening to what we actually want or need.

The solution is so easy for Apple to implement too: have a feature you can toggle in call settings so a prompt asks you to confirm your call. It takes just a second press of a button, but can save you from infinite embarrassment of dialing someone at the wrong time.

Back when my life was easier using an Android, the app was called Call Confirm. No such app exists afaik on iPhone.
