Is anyone experiencing battery drain since updating to iOS 15.2? If so, any tips for what to do about it? I just updated this morning. Thanks!

As posted in the 15.1 battery drain thread, some of the fixes that I found might help with 15.2 as well. I'm talking about drain that persists for more than the 1-3 days after an update while Spotlight is indexing. I had my iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPad Mini 6 BOTH draining enough to run dry in 20 hours of standby, and fixed it completely, so I'm still on 15.1 with no issues..
1) Turn off Apple News Widget on your Home Screen if you have it configured. I had seen that Apple News was using a lot of battery in "Settings > Battery" and I wasn't using it. Turning off background app refresh made no difference in battery use and drain in the background. Then I discovered the widget hiding on the screen to the left of the Home Screen that has my app icons, and turned it off. That reduced my drain from 5-7% per hour to only 3-5% per hour. I also turned off most of the other widgets except Calendar, Reminders, and Battery level for bluetooth accessories (watch, and AirPods).
2) I had my iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPad Mini 6 paired with my iMac and MacBook 16", and had "show this iPad/iPhone when connected with WiFi" turned on. I "Reset Network Settings" which broke this pairing, and COMPLETELY solved my battery drain issue. I was later able to plug my devices back into my iMac and pair/Trust them, but I made sure to turn OFF "show this iPad/iPhone when connected with WiFi" when I Trusted them, and the drain has not come back.
Apparently the WiFi network connection between iDevice and Macintosh computer maybe has the iDevice phoning home continuously in 15.1, even when you are not on the home, and this system resource is still draining the battery regardless of low power mode or not. But my best guess is that when the iDevice is NOT looking out for the computer constantly, with "show this device on wifi", then the drain goes away completely FOR ME. This might not be your problem.
My wife's iPhone 7 was good until updated last week - dropped from 78% overnight on four occasions- had to get a new battery fitted by Apple today. And my 2020 SE was 100% battery health until today and its now 96% Not impressed at all!

Yes after update iOS 15.2 , battery draining faster, even I am facing this issue, let's hope for new update from #apple to fix this. Please everyone report to apple community, so that they easily get to know the problem and work on it on new update release.

I have two most identical iphone se. I use one as new software update Guinea pig. And Yes. I also notice 15.2 drain more battery. Because of this, my daily Iphone is still with 15.1. The only annoying thing I have to deal with now is I cannot remove the update notification red badge on the setting icon. I had tried everything to remove it but without success.

Apple is well aware of this issue. I talked to their support online a couple weeks ago, and visited an Apple Store yesterday in person. They confirmed that the 15.2 update consumes a lot of power, and it affects the battery on some phones very badly (I suppose not the latest iPhone models; but my SE gen2, which is 1 year old, is affected), making them practically unusable. The folks at Apple Stores don't have a solution or a workaround, they told me that you can't downgrade to 15.1, and they don't know if it is going to be fixed with the next update.
Interesting, hope it will be fixed by 15.4 / 15.5 etc. Perhaps I will hang back from updating my battery and wait for a future update to fix it, hopefully that will happen at some point. When you look at the apps, they hardly use any of the power, the power seems to be the system itself which is not listed but basically it is 99% of the power usage. Being on an old iPhone 7 (which was fine for my purposes) clearly seems to have been hit by this power drain
Maybe you're right, but the fact is that Apple has quite a lot of problems with quality of its software products lately Memory leak and battery drain (!) in Monterey 12, broken Xcode 13.2 release and so on. So the bug discussed here is not "alone". It makes no sense all these bugs would be intentional - cannot see reason behind. I still prefer theory that Apple launched so many new services (most of the network based) that they cannot manage to retain quality. As number of "functions" of provided software increase - number of tests and possible bugs rises exponentially. Anyway, Apple's one of the richest companies in the world and such degradation of quality is unacceptable.
It's definitely time to turn off automatic updates, and remember to wait for stable release (sooner or later it will come) and refrain from upgrading weeks/months till no bugs are reported by users.
BTW. I did some tests with connecting phones to computers and accepting "Trust". No impact in my case. My old iPhone SE still consumes ~0%/10h when not used. 12 mini consumes about 20% after clean installation! Both of them left alone for some time to do famous "indexing" (which I personally don't believe in - there's indeed some activity after reinstall but it last about 1-2 hours, not more. This 2-3 days "stabilization" time is just useful "story" for complaining customers). I thing it's another prove that this just an unintentional bug which affects users randomly.
Since upgrading to iOS 15.2 the battery of my iPhone 12 mini (bought in May 2021) lost 2% of it's capacity, it fell from 98% to 96% in three weeks.
I know the exact date when my problems began, it was on November 3rd, few days after upgrading to 15.1 in late October. I realized my battery consumption suddenly increased so I took a screenshot of it on November 8th. Since November 3rd my battery consumption doubled, it jumped from 60-70% a day to 120-140% a day, sometimes even more than 150%, with more or less same activity (about 4 hours per day screen on). Since then I recharge my 12 mini twice a day.
I tried every trick I know, I followed tips from this forum, nothing helped.
I was wrong. Even if sometimes I managed to keep iPhone "stable" (small power consumption), it was just a couple of hours, and then - same story. I listened to music when walking and this beast consumed 25% of battery in less then hour!! It's crazy! I've contacted today a friend to ask how is going and first topic she mentioned was that she's .... (ok, angry) because of the issue. She's just replaced battery in November in official Apple's service and since 15.x the battery lasts much shorter then previous 3-year old battery.
It seems like the problem is really quite common. I wonder how it will end up. Some years ago there was an class-action lawsuit in US concerning battery (iPhones slowed down intentionally) which ended up with battery being replaced for free (I hope I remember correctly). It seems like now situation is similar or even worse (bug results in HW degradation). Will see.

100% battery health indicates the original battery was replaced. Did you buy that 6s from a reputable source that would be certain to have used a genuine iPhone battery?...

My iphone 7 drain started at iOS14.8. I upgraded it to 15 hoping it would go away but it did not. I followed some guide on the internet and downgraded it to 14.8 but it still drained.
I did hard reset to factory mode. Did not work.
Reset all settings. Did not work.
So upgraded few times now to 15.2.1. The drain slope is less outrageous now but still never normal
What I faced concerning 12 minis definitely deserves to be called my personal battergate. I purchased 3 12 minis:
1st) battery discharged to 0%, failed to start-up, even using quite powerful chargers, returned,
2nd) same story, this time I asked staff to handle the problem - they finally managed after quite a few failures (returned it anyway - fully discharged batteries are prone to loose its full power quite quick)
3rd) this time battery was at proper ~50% level, anyway it's loosing its power despite showing 100% health (this thread)
From my point of view it seems like Apple have problems with some batteries used for (at least) 12 mini (certain lot, one provider?). Moreover - it's not impossible that the fact that batteries capacity worsens with each SW upgrade for 12x/13x models has nothing to do with broken SW but it is just upgrade process that consumes quite a lot of battery power and makes batteries become even more destroyed - in such a way that is not reported by microcontroller that controls battery health (that's why system reports 100% battery health).
I know - quite risky theory. But not impossible.
Same here, I bought iPhone 13 Pro max (256Gb) with 15.0.2 installed on it.
The battery was fine (started to charge 20%-80% everyday, and even this amount of volume was okay to handle 8-10 hours of usage as a daily drive), than I updated to iOS 15.1, than iOS 15.1.1, and everything was okay, the the battery drain was okay, at the same level as iOS 15.0.2!
But when I installed iOS 15.2 - oh Lord, the battery drain STARTED TO BE SO HUGE, it is now 5-7 hours of usage!
iOS 15.2.1 didn't do anything better - even worse.
Now I'm on iOS 15.3 - still the same issue as a iOS 15.2. Did a factory reset 2 times.
Battery level - 100%. I repeat, it's a BRAND NEW PHONE!
Apple DO SOMETHING! OR AT LEAST GIVE A CHANCE TO DOWNGRADE BACK TO iOS 15.1.1!
