Mouse Gestures Despite Not Enabled

Why is my "magic mouse" responding to gestures that I don't have selected in the System Preferences?

It shifts right to left at the slightest shifting of my finger, causing everything to constantly be shifting around, and literally making me seasick! What can I do to stop this?

Also, why does Apple's mouse need to be set to maximum tracking speed, to equal a cheap Logitech mouse at just 50%?

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 11.6

Since I see no option to edit my initial post, I just wanted to add, that I'm also experiencing both a lack of response when clicking, as well as the cursor disappearing! Even shaking or clicking it does nothing, I'm forced to just wait a couple minutes, before it kicks back in...
