Calendar will not sync from MacBook Pro to iPhone 12

My calendar will not sync from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone. If I enter an event in my calendar on my MacBook Pro, it does not show up in the calendar on my iPhone. If I enter an event on the calendar in my iPhone, it immediately shows up in my MacBook calendar. Why does it work in one direction but not the other? I have updated all my software on both the iPhone 12 (ios 15.2) and the 2017 15" MacBook Pro (Monterey OS 12.1) I have turned calendares and contacts on and off multiple times. I have re-started my computer and my iphone multiple times. Just not sure what to try next. Every time I call Apple, they start from scratch and most of the time I know much more about Apple products than the support technician I am talking with. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi rosindabow,

We see you're having trouble getting your calendar to sync properly. When adding an event from your Mac, are you adding it to the same iCloud calendar or are you just adding it to your local calendar? If you're adding it to iCloud, we'd recommend to check the iCloud website to see if adding events to your Mac is making it to iCloud at all. If it isn't, you can test this out in a new user account on your Mac to see if the issue persists. You can learn how to add a new user here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Hi - I had done all that - none of it worked. I did finally speak with an Apple Senior Care advisor. We skipped all the obvious stuff and she had me re-start my computer in Safe mode. We turned a few things on and off in Safe mode and everything worked , albeit, very slowly. I re-started the computer normally and voila, it is now working perfectly. The Senior Apple Care Advisor said that sometimes just starting a computer up in Safe mode once and then re-starting it, clears out whatever it is that is making the problem. I'm now up and running.
