facetime join button in message thread

sometimes, after i’ve gotten off of facetime with someone, i’ll go to the message thread and, instead of the facetime button being there, it says ‘join.’ it’ll make the sound as if the facetime had been answered, however no one is there. no matter how many times i kill the facetime and messages app, the join button is still there and the problem persists. what’s up with this? it’s annoying cause i can’t call the person until that button goes away.

It’s my understanding that this means the other person is in an active ft call…I called apple and shared my screen to let them see. And that’s what she told me…Just like it’ll tell you when somebody puts their phone on disturb it tells us when another person is in a ft call. Stay woke.

You could also try joining from the FaceTime app instead of the join button. Or try calling regular and then FaceTime while the call is connecting.

Me and my partner are also having this problem and it is getting so annoying. We have to hang up and call back multiple times before it actually rings.

OK I FOUND A TEMPORARY SOLUTION WITHOUT DOING REBOOT.

Just make a FaceTime voice call & turn on Video from it.

Same. I think at some point the other party had to make multiple calls. I get that 1 call or no missed calls, apparently they’ve made more than 5 calls already..

Ah Damm. For me it’s working normally now. Every time this happens I just make voice call on FaceTime and switch on video from there.
